Fort Lee NJ Dentist on Prolonged Brush Health
One of the benefits of having your own dental office is all of the state-of-the-art equipment on hand. You get to treat your patients day in and day out with the best the industry has to offer- ensuring that their smiles are always top notch and the best they can be when they walk out our doors.
Your dentist in Fort Lee at Anderson Dental knows, however, that you can't come into our Fort Lee office every day (and shouldn't) to get the best cleaning for your teeth. And while you don't have some of the hi-tech gadgets that we may have to get you there, you do have one very powerful tool at home that can help in maintaining your oral health- your toothbrush! With that in mind, today we will be discussing steps to take to ensure brush health.
One of the first steps you can take is washing the head of the brush off under hot water while rubbing a finger through the bristles. This heat, flow and motion can dislodge any lingering particles from your last cleaning. Following your 2-minute brushing session, make sure to store the brush upright in a holder that allows for airflow to dry the head. Do not allow the head to come into contact with other surfaces or brushes and never share a brush, no matter how close you are with that person. Remembering to throw your brush out and start new every 3-4 months is also important in maintaining the integrity and brushing power your toothbrush offers you.
