What Is Invisalign®?

The Invisalign® system utilizes a series of clear, plastic, custom-made trays (similar to teeth whitening trays) to realign the teeth. Each successive tray in the series moves the teeth closer to their final, optimal position. The trays are removable, so you can still enjoy all of your favorite foods and brush and floss with ease. The trays are also virtually invisible, so you can wear them to social occasions with confidence. Finally, the trays are comfortable and will likely cause minimal disruption to your everyday life.

 

The Invisalign® Process

The Invisalign® process begins with a consultation, during which our team will determine whether you are a candidate for treatment. If you are, you will return for a second visit, in which we will take molds of your mouth. We will send the molds to the Invisalign® laboratory, where lab technicians will use them to create your first set of trays. The technicians will use advanced computer software to map out your entire treatment plan from start to finish. You will pick up your first set of trays from our office and wear them as directed (removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss). The lab will send each successive set of trays to your residence; simply change out the trays as they arrive. Patients who wear the trays properly may obtain results in as little as 18 months.
